Burglary rates for regions are consistently about half the rate of burglary for cities. The rates for the Pittsburgh region and the City of Pittsburgh are consistently low.

The Pittsburgh MSA’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2015 was 321.6, a decrease of 7.3 percent from 2014’s burglary rate and the lowest rate of all benchmark regions.

The City of Pittsburgh’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2015 was 715.9, an increase of 3.4 percent from 2014’s burglary rate of 692.1.
